SIFI HOLDS BACK-TO-BACK MEDICAL-DENTAL MISSIONS IN NEGROS ISLAND

The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. holds back-to-back medical-dental missions in Negros Island.

Sugar workers and dependents from Brgy. Sta. Agueda, Pamplona, Negros Oriental and Brgy. Katilingban, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, availed of free medical consultations, dental services and medicines last May 2024. These were all in partnership with URC SURE-URSUMCO and First Farmers Association, Inc. (FFA), respectively.

A total of 499 sugar workers and dependents benefitted from the medical-dental missions with URC SURE-URSUMCO and FFA. Free blood tests were also provided by DiagCare to 350 individuals, mostly senior citizens, in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.

Due to the post-pandemic situation, SIFI intends to reconnect with sugar workers and dependents from remote communities by providing quality health services. Doctors and aids from different local government units come together to extended their services to the beneficiaries.

According to SIFI VRO Health Project Officer Milen Joy Abad, this is only the start of the 2024 medical-dental mission series. The event will not only be catered to beneficiaries in the Visayas, but also in Luzon and Mindanao.
